Altar and Rosary Society
Who We Are: All women of the parish will find us to
be an enjoyable organization. Our current membership stands at 154 members,
who are dedicated and willing to help. Ours is a generous organization,
supportive of the Parish on many levels. Committees are formed as needed,
usually on a one-time basis. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere to
unite the women of the parish through spiritual and social activities.
What We Are About: We strive to promote devotion,
love and dedication to our Blessed Mother through prayer and reflection,
while assisting in the spiritual and material undertakings for the welfare
of the parish community and church.
What We Do:
Our cooperative effort and active participation contributes to the financial
support of the church and the caring needs of the altar and sacristy.
Recently we helped fund the repairs to
the Rose Window, the purchase of altar linens, the new Advent wreath, the
new ciborium, server robes, candles and re-plating of the tabernacle doors,
among other things.
Currently we are working to retire the debt for the Rose
Window, and adding more social events to attract more women to our
organization and to be a more visible group in the parish. In the near time,
we plan a Landscape makeover of our Grotto area for more private devotion.
Who We Serve: We serve the Church through various
parish activities and liturgical services.
We Meet four times a year: in January. April, June on
the last Sunday of the month, and in October on the first Sunday. These
meetings follow this general agenda: 6:40 AM-in the Church, recite rosary;
7:00AM Mass; 8:00 AM-Breakfast Meeting which lasts approximately 1 hour. At
these meeting we discuss events we are directly involved with as well as
other activities of the Parish.
We Welcome New Members: All women of the parish are
welcome. Members have a love for Mary, attend quarterly meetings and
volunteer to help the parish as needed. Our dues are $5 annually and the
time commitment is minimal. We are encouraging more members to take office,
which will allow our group to offer additional activities.
