Athletic Commission
Who We Are: Members of the Athletic Commission and
the athletic program coaching staff are comprised of volunteers. They
include parents and grandparents of the students, young men and women who
are alumni of SS. Cyril & Methodius School, and those people that have been
dedicated to the athletic program for many years.
What We Are About: The SS. Cyril & Methodius Athletic
Commission provides an instructional sports
program for students of SS. Cyril & Methodius School in grades 4, 5,
and 6; and a competitive sports program for student of SS. Cyril & Methodius
School in grades 7 and 8, as an extension of the SS. Cyril & Methodius
School academic program. The extra-curricular athletic program is available
to all students and follows a “no cut policy” providing available resources.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of each sport and be given the
opportunity to develop strong, healthy, and disciplined minds and bodies.
Participants will also develop a sense of good sportsmanship, fair play, and
team spirit.
What We Do: The Athletic Commission acts responsibly
by providing a selection process for coaching assignments and setting
guidelines for the coaching staff that guarantees their
professionalism. The commission members have the responsibility to operate
the program and raise the necessary funds to insure that the goals of a
quality and competitive athletic program are achieved and that these funds
are used strictly for the procurement of athletic equipment, supplies,
and activities related to the athletic program.
Who We Serve: We serve the students in grades 4
through 8 of SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish School.
We Meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:30
PM in the school library. The meetings are open to everyone.
We Welcome: Interested candidates who are willing to
serve as a member of the Athletic Commission or as a coach in the athletic
program.
