The Greek cross is inscribed in a circular blue field that symbolizes the universe and the need for solidarity. The cross sustains and upholds humanity gathered in the continents represented by the five doves. The cross is the same color as the doves, signifying the Incarnation whereby God enters into human history and redeems it. The light that comes from the center of the design represents Christ, who is the light of the world. The colors of the logo remind us that joy and peace are an integral part of the Jubilee celebration.Sharing Christ’s Gifts

use it to serve one another

We are One Church...

The Archdiocese of Chicago represents a family of faith with 379 parishes and more than 2.3 million members. Under the leadership of our Archbishop, Francis Cardinal George, we are one church in communion with Pope John Paul II and other local churches throughout the world. As we enter the third millennium of Christianity, we are called to be a vibrant archdiocesan church that reaches out to transform our society into a civilization of love through evangelization, education and ministerial leadership.

Sharing Christ’s Gifts, the Archdiocese of Chicago’s archdiocesan-wide Millennium Campaign, celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of our parishes and our Archdiocese. It also challenges all of us to join together, as ONE family of faith, to respond to the growing capital and endowment needs of our parishes and our Archdiocese. Responding in gratitude for ALL that the Lord has given to us is at the heart of stewardship. Through the Sharing Christ’s Gifts Millennium Campaign, we have an opportunity to become better stewards of our parish resources and to respond in faith to the larger needs of our local church.

The Sharing Christ’s Gifts Millennium Campaign asks that each parish seek to raise NEW money to address its most essential capital and ministerial needs. These funds remain in the parish to meet its identified needs. At the same time, parishes are also being asked to contribute a portion of their income (20 percent of ordinary income) to the Archdiocese in support of three key initiatives that are also part of the Millennium Campaign. These are:

  1. parishes in need;
  2. the Bishop Timothy Lyne Priests’ Retirement Center; and
  3. capital repairs and improvements at Mundelein Seminary.
