SS. Cyril and Methodius Finance Committee  Report

Gene Hunziker

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

As we look back at our last year we have much to be thankful for. We have a parish that has been blessed with many gifts – both spiritually and financially.

Our Sharing Christ’s Gifts campaign has set ambitious goals to meet the many capital needs of our parish. Time has taken a toll o our facilities, and repairs are required to maintain the safety and beauty of our parish. The generosity of our parishioners will enable us to proceed this year with repairs to the bell Tower and Rose Window along with the demolition of the Convent.

During a period of time in which many parishes are facing financial difficulties and catholic school closings are becoming a fact of life, we continue to thrive. Our weekly collections have remained strong and our special fund–raisers continue to be well received.

However, we do have our concerns. Our buildings are very old and will continue to require repairs and maintenance. Our future parking needs will necessitate expansion of our current lots. And certainly it is our desire to support the overall ministry and mission Jesus. Our long-term financial plans address all the issues and many more. It is our goal to ensure a financially strong and beautiful parish for both our current families and the many generations that will follow.

Our Mission

We are a people of faith, gathered as a Catholic Community, willing to respond to the message of Jesus Christ. We are called to share our gifts, talents and resources. This responsibility is expressed through our sacramental celebrations and the witness we give to our daily lives.

The details of our parish are included as a part of this report for you review. Your comments, concerns, and questions are both solicited and appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact anyone of the members of the Finance Committee if you would like to discuss any of these items that are so important to the future of our parish.

God Bless America and our Parish.
