Sacramental Music

Music is an integral part of our Catholic worship. It touches our souls and helps us to pray often in a more intimate and effective way than only the spoken word. Because of this, music is present at many of our parish celebrations other than weekly Masses.

Weddings
Wedding couples should contact the Director of Music at least two months before the wedding date to arrange a music consultation. If you would like special musicians to participate in your wedding, it is advisable to call even sooner. At your music consultation meeting, you will be able to hear many options of appropriate music for your wedding and choose music that suits your needs and desires. Call Anne Cromley at 630-257-0100 to arrange a meeting.

Funerals
Families arranging a funeral have the opportunity to meet with a Bereavement Minister to choose appropriate music (and readings) for the liturgy. The Bereavement Minister will guide you and provide you with appropriate options of music. The Resurrection Choir normally sings for funerals, accompanied by an organist. A soloist may also be requested if you do not want the Resurrection Choir.

First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation
Music plays an important role in all of these parish celebrations. Choirs are present at First Communion and Confirmation to lead the joyous solemnity. First Reconciliation is a more intimate moment, and a cantor and piano beautifully suit this special sacrament.

Anointing of the Sick
Music can heal us in our darkest moments and lead us to the light of faith and hope. Ministers of Care plan this communal celebration, and the Resurrection Choir sings music of healing and hope.
