Technology Acceptable Use PolicyThe purpose of the SS. Cyril & Methodius School provided access to electronic information resources is to facilitate communication in support of research and education. Access is a privilege not a right. Access entails responsibility. In making decisions regarding student and staff access to information resources SS. Cyril & Methodius School considers its own stated mission, goals, and objectives. Students utilizing school provided technology are responsible for appropriate behavior. Users of school-provided technology are not permitted to: Attempt to gain access to unauthorized files Tamper with installed software and files Tamper with hardware Install, remove, or exchange any file or its properties, other than his/her own personal files Install, copy, or knowingly infect a computer system with a virus program Delete, rename, move, copy, or change any file or its properties, other than his/her own personal files Attempt to access another individuals materials, information, or files without permission Violate copyright laws or otherwise use the intellectual property of another individual or organization without permission Access/retrieval of email, instant messaging or chat rooms are not allowed Post anonymous messages Employ the network for commercial purposes/private advertising Use another’s password or attempt to change any passwords Access, upload, download, or distribute inappropriate material Transmit inappropriate or threatening language Violate any local, state, or federal statute Vandalize, damage, or disable the property of another individual or organization If a student disregards these rules, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

This policy is to help us monitor and control access to the Internet for the school year 2006-2007. It is a privilege that should be respected. You are asked to read our policy with your child, sign, and return this sheet to school. It is required that this form be completed annually. We keep them on file in the event of any infractions or altercations to our school policies.
