Deacon Neil Rogers
I am Deacon Neil Rogers. I was born in Sycamore, IL, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1981, and received an MBA from DePaul University in 1987. I met my wife Trish at U of I, and we were married in April 1982 at St. Jude the Apostle in South Holland.
Trish and I moved to Lemont in 1992 and fell in love with SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish. We felt at home the minute we walked through the front doors. Trish and I have been blessed with six wonderful daughters; Therese, Elizabeth, Michelle, Mary, Clare and Margaret. Our children all graduated from SS. Cyril & Methodius School, and Trish is a Teacher’s Aide at our school. We are now beginning a new chapter in our lives; the wonderful role of grandparents.
I have been involved with various ministries over the years, including committee work, coaching at our parish school, serving on the Parish Pastoral Council, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and Ministry of Reader. I applied to the Institute for Diaconal Studies and began formation in the fall of 2012. It has been a wonderful experience, and I want to say “Thank you!” to all of our parishioners who prayed for me and my family during the discernment process. Through the Grace of God, I was ordained on June 4, 2016. I am very blessed to be part of such a wonderful parish and I look forward to serving you!
