Respect Life Month Events
Lemont Parishes Respect Life Ministry has events planned for October Respect Life Month.
Baby Bottle Project: Our parish will participate in the Baby Bottle Project of the Women's Centers of the Greater Chicagoland, which benefits mothers and babies. Please take a baby bottle home with you next weekend, fill it with your spare change over the next three weeks, and return it by the weekend of October 22/23. Bottles may be found at the main exits as you leave Mass next week. This is a simple, but crucial, fundraising effort for the Women’s Centers. Thank you for your role in defending life. Please keep all pro-life efforts in your prayers, especially during this Respect Life month.
Pro-Life Procession: Sunday, October 2nd, 3:30 PM Begins at St. Cyril's Grotto. You are invited to join us as we honor the sanctity of life. Led by the Knights of Columbus, we will process from the St. Cyril’s Grotto past St. Patrick Church praying the rosary. From there we walk up to St. Alphonsus Church for a prayer service. Those who find it difficult to make the journey are invited to gather at St. Alphonsus Church at 3:30 to pray the rosary. In the event of bad weather, a prayer service will be held at St. Alphonsus Church at 3:30 pm.
40 Days For Life Campaign: In support of this campaign, where Christians come together in a spirit of unity through prayer, fasting and peaceful vigil to show support for life and a desire to end abortion, our Lemont Respect Life Ministry will meet on the sidewalk in front of Access Health Center on 75th Street in Downers Grove on October 8th from 8 AM to 10 AM to pray for all those whose lives are affected by abortion. Please join us and help give public witness to the value and sanctity of life. For more information, please 40daysforlife.com or call Linda O'Connor at 630-257-2414.
