Parents' Rosary For Their Children

May 17, 2017

Every parent wants the best for their children. We want them to be happy, healthy, and smart. We want the best schools, a good profession and a happy and fulfilled family life for them. Many parents worry about the spiritual growth of their children as they become more independent and begin to build their own lives. Is there anything we can do as parents?  Yes! And by a most powerful means!

HOW TO PRAY THE PARENTS' ROSARY

The Parents' Rosary is based on the Living Rosary. It's a group of 20 people who commit to reciting one decade of the rosary daily (1x Our Father, 10 x Hail Mary, 1x Glory Be). Every day, a group of 20 parents is praying for all of the children within the group. There are 20 mysteries of the Holy Rosary, so each person is praying one mystery each month. (The Rosary Prayer Group Leader is responsible for assigning a mystery to each member.)

It only takes 5 minutes to pray one decade. Only 5 minutes a day to get 24 hour protection for my child? That's a true gift of God's economy! The knowledge that there are always 19 other people praying for my child, even if I forget, brings comfort and peace. We don't have to worry about our children's present and future lives, as long as we entrust them to God and Mary's intercession! The only true and effective protection is faithful prayer for our children!

Join the Parents’ Rosary Initiative today!  Flyers and sign-up sheets can be found on the back tables of the church.
