New Sharing Organization
October 24, 2018

SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish is in the exciting process of uniting with the Missionaries of the Poor as a sister community to assist and share in their ministries. Through this twinning, we hope to bring about a blessed partnership of faith, spiritual communion, missionary service and mutual support.
The Missionaries of the Poor (MOP) is a new dynamic international pontifical religious order of brothers and priests, founded in Jamaica in 1981 by Very Rev. Fr. Richard Ho Lung, MOP. Like St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the Missionaries of the Poor joyfully offer free service to the poorest of God’s poor, to mentally and physically challenged children, orphans, the elderly, lepers and the most destitute and abandoned of peoples in Jamaica, India, Haiti, Africa, East Timor, Indonesia, the USA and the Philippines.
On the weekend of November 3 to 4, 2018, Fr. Brian Kerr, MOP, one of the founding members of the Missionaries of the Poor and a former Vicar General, will be visiting the parish to share stories and information regarding their inspiring worldwide ministries. We invite you to join us as we welcome Fr. Brian as he speaks with you about his missionary work and love for God’s poor -- and especially about their present life-saving mission in Kenya and Uganda and this marvelous new partnership of SS. Cyril & Methodius parish with the MOP missions and support team here in Chicago. Come join and be inspired and renewed!
