Daniel Turney

Daniel P. Turney is an experienced educational leader who was recently appointed Principal at Ss. Cyril and Methodius School in Lemont, IL.  Dan brings over two decades of experience as a teacher, administrator, and
mission-driven leader in a variety of Catholic school settings. He is committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and fostering a strong sense of community rooted in Catholic values.


Prior to his new role, Dan served as Principal of Most Holy Redeemer School in Evergreen Park, where he led curriculum development, faculty growth, and strategic planning. His leadership has consistently emphasized innovation in teaching and learning, integration of technology, and the cultivation of student leadership. Previously, Dan held administrative positions including Vice Principal at Mother McAuley High School and Assistant Principal for Curriculum at St. Laurence High School, where he spearheaded initiatives in STEM education, professional development, and mission integration.
 

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English/Secondary Education from Marquette University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. He has further enhanced his expertise through the University of Notre Dame’s ACE Principal Academy and leadership certifications from the Archdiocese of Chicago. Dan’s professional service includes contributions to accreditation review teams, national conference presentations, and mentoring of new school leaders.
 

Throughout his career, Dan has been dedicated to forming students who are not only academically prepared but also grounded in faith and service. He looks forward to partnering with the SS. Cyril and Methodius community to build on the school’s rich traditions while advancing its mission to provide an exceptional Catholic education.

Dan resides in Oak Lawn, IL, with his wife, Kathleen, and three children - Adelaide, Eleanor, and Timothy.
